Charles Wesley Johnson, 93, of Carmel, IN (formerly of Bloomington, IN and Evansville, IN) went home to his Lord Jesus on Friday, August 23, 2024. He was born January 26, 1931, in Harvard, Nebraska, the son of the late Carl Wesley Johnson and the late Myrtle Charlotta Swanson Johnson. Charles had one older sister, the late Annette Lillian Johnson Carpenter. He was married to the late Suzanne Boldt Johnson on November 18, 1955.
Chuck and Sue enjoyed 64 years together. From Illinois, to Nebraska, back to Illinois, to Iowa, and finally home to Indiana. A very rich and full life: husband, student, father, pastor, professor. And always engaged in the family farm.
Chuck is survived by his daughter Martha Agee (husband J.) of Castle Rock, CO; his two sons, David Johnson (wife Kim) of Bloomington, IN and Robert Johnson (wife Meg) of Westfield, IN; eight grandchildren, John Agee (Céline), Sarah Turner (Steven), Rebecca Prensner (Matt), Stephen Agee (Erin), Joshua Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Elisabeth Dohoney (Matthew) and Shoshanna Johnson; and eight great grandchildren, Luka and Eliam Agee, Katelyn and Micah Turner, and Emma, Ignatius, Stonewall and Aurora Dohoney.
Family and friends will celebrate Chuck’s life at 11:30 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Leppert Mortuary (900 N. Rangeline Rd.) in Carmel, IN, officiated by the Rev. Bill Johnson. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
