Brenda Sue (Moss) Dunn, age 64 of New Castle, IN, passed away March 27, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital Indianapolis, following a brief illness. She was born May 23, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas the second daughter of the late Homer Jay & Evelyn Imogene (Munn) Moss. She was married on Aug. 22, 1981 to Warren Everett Dunn, they were married for 35 years, before Warren’s passing on Sept. 27, 2016.
Brenda grew up in Indiana and was a tomboy that loved to ride horses with friends and play outside with her siblings. She was one of the first females to graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Architectural drafting and design from ITT Technical institute in the 1970’s. She forged her way through a predominately male driven profession, eventually specializing in Kitchen, Bath, and Cabinetry design. She won several awards throughout her 30 year career including being published kitchen of the year in Indianapolis Monthly, having kitchens on display in Noblesville and Carmel’s Home-o-Ramas, and in the Indianapolis Home Show. She was very proud to have her own business, Creative Cabinetry, for many years, in which Warren would help install her designs.
Some of Brenda’s greatest joys in life were drawing, cooking, spending time with her family, and eating Southern foods and desserts.
She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, that was kind and forgiving to all. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Darla Jayne (Mrs. Eric) Nolan of Noblesville, IN; her three sisters Janice (Mrs. Doug) Adamson, Debbie (Mrs. Bob) Powers, and Shelley (Mrs. Steve) Shea; and three brothers Michael, Jay (Mrs. Tonia), and Bob Moss.
