Alta M. Parrish, 100, entered into eternal rest after a brief illness on November 27, 2023. She was born on October 7, 1923 in Richmond, IN to the late William Bishop and Julia Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Leonard Parrish, her beloved husband of 66 years and a dear daughter Melissa Best.
She was a resident of Carmel since 1967 and was a long-time member of Thrive Church (Central Christian), Primelife Enrichment and The American Sewing Guild. She was known for her talent of sewing, art, and crafts, lovingly making many items for her family through the years.
Alta loved spending time with family and friends and those who have been blessed by her life will miss her immeasurably.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Maier (Jerry), three granddaughters Mallorie Parrish Fishbaugh (Drew), Katherine Howenstein (Brian), Abby Russell (Sean). Six great grandchildren, Liesl Howenstein, Marianne Howenstein, Beckham Fishbaugh, Everlie Fishbaugh, George Russell, Sam Russell.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00am at Leppert Mortuary, Carmel. The service will begin at noon and burial will follow in Carmel Cemetery.
