Born and raised near Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Norma taught in a country school near Avonlea, Saskatchewan before marrying Duncan McKellar, also of Carlyle, in 1953. Norma and Duncan continued to reside in Avonlea until 1991. Norma was an active member of the community taking part in U.C.W., curling, golfing, bridge and working at the library. Norma also enjoyed her daily coffee get-together with her friends.
In retirement, Norma and Duncan returned to Kenosee Lake and then Carlyle where they enjoyed an active lifestyle with their friends and family for years.
Norma is survived by her husband, Duncan; sons, Neil (Lorna) and Dale (Donna); grandsons, Matthew (Ariel) and Graham; sister Clara; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
A family celebration of Norma’s life will be held at a later date.
Norma’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Moose Mountain Lodge and especially to Clara, Lois, Bernice, Ida, Marg and everyone who helped her through her lengthy illness.
