Blanche was born near Arcola SK and lived most of her life in Saskatchewan, including time spent in Uranium City and Prince Albert. She worked for several years as a nurse in Regina and then moved back to Arcola where she continued to nurse at the Arcola Hospital until her retirement. She spent most of her retirement years in the Moose Mountains, living in the home that she had converted from a former church. In her earlier years, she served in the Armed Forces, including a stint in England during WWII.
Blanche will be deeply missed by her daughters: Marilyn (Garth) Kleisinger, Sandra MacNevin, Gloria Stack and Regi Maher; her grandchildren: Warren (Brenda), Degen (Arnie), John Kyle (Melinda), Mark, Brian, Mac, Jon, and Madison; her great-grandchildren: Leah, Brett, Emily, Jarret, Morgan, Anika, April (Adam), Samantha, Tamara, Jasmine, Hannah and Mathea; her brother Lew McNeil; and her many nieces and nephews. Blanche was predeceased by her parents: Daniel and Marion McNeil; her siblings: brothers Wilfred (Iona), Tom, Don (Diane), and Bob (Darlene) and sister Fran (Cork). Blanche had a big heart, a ready smile and quick wit, enriching the lives of all who knew her. We will miss her. The family extends a special thank-you to all the staff at the Moose Mountain Lodge.
