Lois was born in Red Hill, Virginia to Lewis Dillard and Alice Pearce Houchens, the oldest of 5 siblings whom she loved dearly. Lois was mother to John Dillard Yoho, Alice Yoho Gensel and Robert Lewis Yoho. She raised her children with love and devotion in Parkersburg West Virginia, along with the love of her life, Cylburn Yoho, before packing up everyone and moving to Cape Coral Florida in the 70's.
She was retired from Cape Coral Hospital where she worked from when they opened in 1977 until 1993. A switchboard operator, she was known to all as "the voice with a smile." She was also known for her culinary skills and baked goods, and her house was often full of neighborhood kids hoping for a full cookie jar or a warm crockpot.
Along with her children, Lois is survived by her brother Richard "Dickie" Houchens, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren, all of which comprise her family, her most valued treasure. She has joined her husband Cyiburn Yoho, brother Jack Houchens, sisters Lottie Lee Dudley, Jean Gordner and her grandson Jett Yoho behind heaven's gate.
A funeral service and celebration of life will be held Saturday August 27th beginning 1:00, at First Baptist Church of Cape Coral, 4117 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral FL 33904.
In true Yoho fashion there will be food and fellowship following the service to share in the celebration of Lois. Please join us in sharing good memories.
