Beverly Ann Peterson “Bev”, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 14th 2019. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, nana, great-nana, sister and friend to all whose lives she touched. Bev was born in Braintree, Massachusetts to Charles Rowan and Nan Watterson Rowan. After graduating from Fitchburg High, she moved to New York where she met and married Arthur Peterson, the love of her life and husband of 33 years. Bev gave birth to eight children and enjoyed twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Although a homemaker for most of her life, she worked, as a secretary in various fields, as well as being actively involved in the Association for the Help of Retarded Children - Long Island Branch. In 1988 she moved to Cape Coral, Florida where she served as a volunteer at Cape Coral Hospital, holding various board positions, including that of presidency. Bev enjoyed hobbies such as knitting, cooking, sewing, and she loved playing all types of games and cards.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Peterson, David Peterson (wife Margaret), Nan O’Hara, Diane Bedell (husband Joseph), Stephanie Peterson, Steven Peterson, Glenn Peterson, Gary Peterson; daughter in law, Stephanie Peterson; grandchildren, Laurie O’Hara, Sean O’Hara, Brian Peterson, Meaghan Swaysland, Daniel Peterson, Katie Peterson, Shannon Cipriani, Jaime Bedell, Courtney Reyes, Jennifer Peterson, Michael Peterson, Samantha Peterson; great- grandchildren, Josephyna Lepeak, Cayden Cipriani, Damon Kulikowski, Kaydence O’Hara, Teagan O’Hara, Olivia Swaysland, Ellie Swaysland, Nolan Reyes, Ashton Sanchez, Douglas Peterson, Stella Peterson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her; husband, Arthur Peterson; son, Charles Peterson; three sisters, Jean Blake, Barbara Tegge, and Patricia McCreedy; one brother, Charles Rowan; son in law, Kevin O’Hara.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, August 19th at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd S., Cape Coral.
The family suggests donations in her memory be made to: Hope Hospice, AHRC-Nassau County, New York or National Diabetes Association.
