Arthur F. Amato, 80, of Cape Coral, Florida (formerly of Newark and Bloomfield, New Jersey) suddenly passed away. He was a devoted son, husband and loving father.
Arthur was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was a student of the first graduating class of Essex Catholic High School in Newark, New Jersey. He married his loving wife, Lenore (nee Pettoni) in 1972 and was married for 51 years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war attaining the rank of Private First Class and was a staunch supporter of Veterans. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Father Owens Post 1187 of Newark, New Jersey, serving in different capacities. He was elected New Jersey State Commander from 1983 to 1985.
Arthur was employed by The Home Depot in Montville, New Jersey for 20 years of devoted service.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore, and son, Mark Amato and his wife Anna Maria (nee Lazzizzera). He was preceded in death by his parents Philip Amato and Rose Amato (nee Carolla).
Services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the main chapel at:
Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
A Funeral Mass will occur Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave, Cape Coral, FL 33991. Immediately following the Mass, the procession will lead back to Coral Ridge Funeral Home for the Entombment.
