Anthony Scardina

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Antonina Scardina; his son, Giovanni Scardina and wife Jill Flathom Scardina; his eldest daughter, Giuseppina Santos and husband Kevin Santos; his youngest daughter, Patrizia Reed and husband Eric Reed; his 6 grandchildren and great-granddaughter; his mother, Giovanna Scardina; his brother, Salvatore Scardina and many friends.

Born and raised in San Nicola L'Arena, Sicily, Italy, the son of Giovanni and Giovanna Scardina, he was a lifelong resident of Palos Park, Illinois and lived the last 10 years in Cape Coral, Florida.

In his early years, Anthony worked with his dad as a Fisherman. He met his wife, Antonina Lacerna Russo, while picking olives in Sant’Onofrio and were married in 1967. Shortly after, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked as a salesman and at a meat factory to support his family. In 1979, he became a partner at Continental Automatic Transmission. He later semi-retired and moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where he worked at Wal-Mart. His passions included gardening and fishing.

The Wake will be held on Thursday, June 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991 (Corner of Chiquita & Pine Island Rd)

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 2nd at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave., Cape Coral, with Entombment to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
