Amanda Swenson of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on April 2, 2020 at the age of 31. Amanda will forever be remembered by her parents, Mitchell and Claudia Swenson, her daughter Aaliya, her brother, Nick, paternal grandmother Sheila, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her paternal grandfather, Dean Swenson, maternal grandparents, Donald & Irmgard Whipple, and her aunt Julie Quimby precede her in death.
Amanda was born in Hanover, New Hampshire in January of 1989. The Swenson family moved to Florida where Amanda attended Pine Island Elementary, Trafalgar Middle, and graduated from Mariner High School in 2007. Amanda was always a high achiever and never settled for anything less than her best. The fact that Amanda never missed a day of school from Kindergarten until her graduation was an early indicator to the drive and strong work ethic she carried with her until her passing.
Amanda had quite the affinity for shopping and her multiple purses, wallets, clothes, and drawers full of make-up can attest to that. She enjoyed cooking and baking with her mom, and loved eating just as much. Her daughter Aaliya wants it to be known that not only was Amanda the best mom in the world, she could also make a mean taco. As much as Amanda loved being “girly”, she wasn’t afraid to get dirty and set out on an adventure. When she was just 14 years old she was racing with the Jr. Dragsters at the Immokalee Regional Raceway. From dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, kayaks, and snowmobiles no machine was too much for her-she was up for anything. Amanda was an incredible mother and shared her love of life with her daughter providing Aaliya with many experiences and lifelong memories.
Throughout her young life Amanda always challenged herself and tried new occupations. She attended SWFL College and tried her hand in medical billing and coding and then went on to Hodges University where she studied to be a paralegal. A self described “Daddy’s Girl”, the occupation that Amanda was most proud of was teaming up with her dad to build a trucking company. The two of them worked many long hours together and Amanda often referred to her dad as the Greatest Of All Time (The GOAT).
Amanda most enjoyed being with her daughter, family and many close lifelong friends. She will be remembered for many things, but the first thing that comes to mind when Amanda’s closest family and friends think of her is her generous heart, contagious laugh and her bright smile.
The family is grateful for all of the love and support they have received. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
