Services for Troy Wayne Scott, Sr., 85, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11 am Monday, December 2, 2019, at the Peace Church in Mesquite, TX, with Pastor James Baker officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Mr. Scott passed away November 28, 2019 at his home. He was born October 23, 1934 in Bogata to Ira Nolen and Tennie Bell Hunsaker Scott.
Troy was raised in the early years of his life in numerous locations across Texas and as far away as Arizona and Kansas. His family settled back in Texas permanently where he resided until his passing. Troy met Wilma Ruth Hooten in Dallas and they were married on November 15, 1954. His work occupations began as a heavy equipment operator, then changed to HVAC where he eventually owned his own business, and then he purchased a convenience store/gas station which he just recently sold. He was a hard working man who was always reliable and trustworthy.
Mr. Scott loved to deer hunt and spend time with his family. Those who knew him would say he had a mischievous side and loved to pull jokes on others. Troy was a member of the Peace Church in Mesquite. He was faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ and was always available to help and serve.
Mr. Scott is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda; two brothers, Kenneth and Eddie; grandson, Luke; and three great-grandchildren: Natalie, Lailah and Brody.
Troy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilma Ruth Scott of Wills Point; daughter, Rebecca and Max Wharton of Wills Point; son, Troy Jr. and Krista Scott of Mesquite; daughter, Talona and Lemar Brown of Jonesville, LA; son, Ronald and Donna Scott of Canton; son, John and Candi Scott of Canton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Nolen and Sandy Scott of Forney; brother-in-law, Marvin and Mickie Hooten of Kemp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hathcock, Peyton Scott, Logan Bundrick, Cody Sowell, Tristen Sherwood and Colten Sherwood.
Family will receive friends 4-6 pm Sunday at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
