Services for Robert E. Carpenter, 82, of Martins Mill, are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the Eubank Funeral Home with Frank Corry officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
Mr. Carpenter passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, in Athens, TX. He was born March 29, 1932 in Canton, TX to Robert Henry and Lois Louise Dearing Carpenter.
Robert was a member of the Martins Mill Baptist Church. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Robert lived in Mesquite for 20 years before returning to Martins Mill. He retired from Pollock Paper in Arlington and was a devoted Texas Rangers fan.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his daughter, Christy Ray; grandson, Johnathan Ray; granddaughter, Ashley Rowe, all of Martins Mill; sister, Lois Marie Bishop of Chandler; one nephew and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Carpenter; granddaughter, Katherine Ray; his parents and a niece, Debbie Adkins.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
