Robert (Bob) L. Borth., age 80 of Wills Point, died peacefully at his home on September 30, 2021. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann (Rhodes) Borth. Born in Childress, Texas on January 17, 1941, he was the eldest son to the late Archie and Helen Borth. Bob grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico where in High School he participated in the R.O.T.C. for three years. After graduating in 1959, he then entered the US Air Force where he proudly served as an intelligence analyst until his retirement at the rank of Master Sergeant in 1979. He served as a past Post Jr. Vice Commander and Treasurer of the Canton VFW Post 1231. He was on the Board of Directors for the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial from 2009 until 2021. He will be honored by many for his dedication to the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial as well as the many veterans he served throughout the years.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Ann, and his only child, Janie M. McWolf. He was grandfather to Jonathan, Kristeena, Joshua, and Kenneth, and has 7 great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
Arrangements are under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home 27532 State Hwy 64, Canton, TX 75103. The memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 8, 2021. Full military honors will be provided by the Department of Defense. Reception to follow at the Van Zandt County Veteran’s Memorial 1200 S Trade Days Blvd # 600, Canton, TX 75103.
