Services for Loyd Keith Plaster, 59, of Canton, will be held 10 am Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. David Fretwell officiating. Interment will be in Tarver Cemetery.
Mr. Plaster passed away August 26, 2023 in Tyler. He was born December 15, 1963 in Dallas to Loyd Benton and Emma Jean Carpenter Plaster.
Keith was raised and lived most of his life in the Whitton Community. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gun-smithing. He enjoyed his work as a surveyor with Keith Fincher. Together, they were able to survey all over the United States. Keith loved family reunions and holidays. He was the official taste tester for holiday meals to see if the dish cooked compared to "Mama Carp's" recipe.
Keith found Jesus later in life. He loved reading his Bible and memorizing Scriptures. He was a very generous man. He would have given his last dollar to help someone else. Keith was very devoted to his parents and sisters. He was always there to take care of them and help in any way. After his parents passed away, he became the "patriarch of the family." Throughout his illness, Keith maintained his sense of humor and continued to be a practical joker. He enjoyed making the nurses think they hurt him when they would give him a shot or start an IV.
Mr. Plaster is preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Jean Plaster; and a niece, Christina Marie Forrest. Keith is survived by his two sisters and their husbands: Kelly and James "Bubba" Ragle of Emory and Kathy and Brad Davis of Wills Point; nieces and nephews and their spouses: Renee and Steven Pierson, Amanda and Joe McGatlin, James Ragle, Jered and Megan Forrest, Jason and Claire Ragle, John Ragle, and Jesse Ragle; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; friend and adopted brother, Keith Fincher; aunts, Barbara Estes and Gayle Bennett; friend, James Keene; and work family at Bison Creek Land Services.
Pallbearers will be Keith Fincher, Sam Ward, James King, Bobby Mazingo, Charlie Ringgold and Daniel Delk. Honorary pallbearers are: James Ragle, Jered Forrest, Jason Ragle, John Ragle and Jesse Ragle.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
