Joseph Carl Skaggs

Joseph “Joe” Skaggs passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2021. He was born on February 12, 1942 in Billings, Missouri to Wade and Lucille Harter Skaggs.

Joe grew up in Irving, Texas and graduated from Irving High School. He was raised in a Catholic home along with four siblings. Joe was a simple man who loved the Lord and loved life. He married his beloved wife, Elaine on March 11, 2011. Joe enjoyed listening to Bob Wills music and watch football with his dog, Bella, by his side. He would delight in visiting with family and loved seeing all his children and grandchildren around. Joe was a wonderful friend to have. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Lucille Skaggs; sister, Mary Lou Cox.

Those left to cherish his sweet memory are his wife, Elaine Skaggs; children, Jody Skaggs, Jimmy Skaggs, Ricky Joe Howard, Sonya Mason, Elisha Harvey and Sharon Davis; grandchildren, Lindsay, Rachel, Brandon, Tyler, Tanner, Trey, J. C., Shenah, Madison, Meagan, Gracey and Travis; brothers, Patrick, Mike and David.

Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Skaggs, Tanner Mason, Brandon Broom, Jimmy Anderson, Trey Skaggs,

Mike Kimbrough, Rusty Bridges and Travis White.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
