Joe Albert Rivera, Sr.

A visitation will be held for Joe Albert Rivera Sr., 59, at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Eubank Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Romulo Rivera and Pastor William Forest officiating.

Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 19, 2023 in League City, Texas. He was born on September 14, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Romulo Rivera and Clara Hernandez Rivera.

Joe grew up in the Mesquite area. He graduated from Mesquite High School in 1983. He married his true love, Pamela Dianne Deckard on November 22, 1991. The two built a beautiful life together. Joe worked for the city of Mesquite as a supervisor for the water department and later for League City water department and ended his career at the water department with the City of Pearland. Joe loved to be outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; often taking trips with his life-long friend, Randy Wiggins. These adventures often times had more troubles than rewards, but were some of the greatest memories and lessons to the pair of outdoorsmen. Later these adventures would be talked about; more often than not, in humor, to his son, who would later join them on their trips. Joe was full of life and always had a smile, you couldn’t help but smile when you were in the room with him. The most important thing to Joe was family. He was blessed with a loving wife, wonderful children, and a life spent in the outdoors as much as possible. He will live on in the hearts and memories of those that knew and loved him. Think of Joe and smile.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Clara H. Rivera.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Rivera; children, Joe Rivera Jr., Amy Petrea, Carolyn Carpenter; grandchildren, Colton Petrea and Kassie Petrea; father, Romulo Rivera; sisters, Angie Like and husband, John, Janie Shaver and husband, Kelly, Melissa Silva and husband, J.R., brother, Ray Rivera and wife, Elisha; and a host of other family and friends.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
