A funeral service will be held for Esther “Florence” Conway, 96, of Canton, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Church of Christ on St Hwy 243 in Canton, Texas. Bro. Blake O’Qunn officiating and under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.
Florence passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024 in Canton, Texas. She was born August 14, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fred Garrett Mullich and Elenor Haill Mullich.
Florence grew up in Brownsville, TX, after high school she became a telephone operator; one day she receive a call of a small plane crash landing on the Boca Chica road; her future husband was the pilot. Florence married her one true love in 1949, Robert Clayton Conway, Sr. The couple had 68 beautiful years at his passing in 2017.
Florence enjoyed quilting and cross-stitch. She was a long time member of the Church of Christ on St.Hwy 243. Through the church, she was active with the food bank and the child advocacy programs. Florence best days were filled with family; she dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elenor Mullich; beloved husband, Robert C. Conway, Sr.; daughter in-law, Kathy Conway; sister, Laverne Denson; brothers, Buddy Mullich and Jimmy Mullich
Florence is survived by her children: son, Robert Clayton Conway II; daughters, Ruth Braud and husband, Tim, Karen Conway and Kristine Conway; grandchildren: Robert Conway III and wife, Alecia, Anna Conway, Justin Davis, Tammy Mong and husband, Derek, Travis Davis and wife, Cherish, Prestin Davis, Kaitlyn Conway and husband, Max Kohn; great grandchildren: Mallerie Laird, husband Brett, Robert C. Conway IV, Casey Conway, Ridge Conway, Stockton Cranek, Lincoln Conway, Brooke Davis, Ty Davis, Addie Davis, Kaitlin Mong, Jase Mong; great great grandchildren; Layla, Luke, Lynnlee and Levi.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to service.
Interment will be Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
