Edith Marie Elam

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Eubank Funeral

Edith was born on May 10, 1961 in Garland, Texas to Norman Edward Elam and Louise Rorrer Elam. She

grew up in Mesquite surround by the love of her parents and siblings. She was a member of the First

Assembly of God Church in Mesquite. Edith was a loving person. She was quick to hug and always had a smile for people. Edith was active in Special Olympics for many years. She traveled and participated in events from New York to Austin. During these times, she met many famous people, who just loved her and her warm smile. Edith enjoyed bowling and was a longtime team member of the Rylie Rounders. Edith enjoyed her videos and time with her sister and brothers. “You’re my favorite brother” was often heard when giving one of her brothers a hug. Edith was a shining light in the life of everyone that knew her. She will always be remembered in hearts and memories of all that knew and loved her.

Those waiting with open arms in heaven: grandparents, Margaret Gibbs Rorrer and Walter Lee Rorrer; grandfather, Alvin E. Elam; grandmothers, Fannie Keck and Pina Elam.

She is survived by her parents, Norman and Louise Elam; brother, Ed Elam and wife, Juanita; brother, Tony Elam; sister, Tammy Painter and husband, Marc; nieces and nephews: Amy and Tim Gabbard, Katherine and Thomas Elam, Angie and Nathan Elam, Toni Elam and Animesh Tanwar, Christina and Mark Russell, Kaydi and Christopher Cox, Daniel Murray; great nieces and nephews: Kaden Gabbard, Karson Gabbard, Korbin Gabbard, Ryan Elam, Kaylee Elam, Henry Elam, Roman Dixon, Anya Elam, Anita Tanwar, Caleb Cox, Kevin Cox, Andrew Murray, Rachel Murray, Ellie May Cox and Wayne Cox; sister in- law, Mercedes Elam; cousin, Elita and Lance Offitt; special friend, Jerry Dolan; and numerous other cousins, family and friends.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
