A Celebration of Life for Donald Lee Anderson, 88, of Canton, will be held 10 am Monday, November 27, 2023 at Eubank Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Cobb officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Mr. Anderson passed into the arms of Jesus in Tyler surrounded by family on November 16, 2023. He was born April 1, 1935 in Stephenville to Archie Webster and Leola Tarver Anderson.
Don was raised a Lutheran and served as a deacon and usher at Peace Lutheran Church in Garland. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1963. Don met the love of his life on a blind date. He married Carol on June 29, 1960. After 35 years Don retired form the US Postal Service in Dallas at Vickery. Don enjoyed deer hunting with his dad. He was an excellent marksman and enjoyed fishing, puzzles and watching Westerns. Don loved spending time with his family. Don was loved by all who knew him. He never met a stranger. He told the best stories and had an impeccable memory. Don was affectionately known as POP POP to many.
Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Carol Anderson; his parents, Archie Anderson and Leola Goodson; and three brothers: Bill Anderson, Richard Goodson and Gerald Goodson.
Don is survived by his son, Ron and Lori Anderson; son, Rev. Mark Anderson; daughter, Cheryl Anderson; eight grandchildren: Jon, Emma, Lexi, Levi, Jennifer, Hannah, Ashley and Dakota; and three sisters: Linda Anderson Caldwell, Theresa Anderson Sharp and husband, David, and Shirley Anderson Weldon and husband, Larry.
Pallbearers will be Bill Faglie, Jeff Tunnell, Greg Brown, Bud Delk, Ronald Jones and Robert Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Howard.
Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the funeral home.
