Mr. White passed away August 27, 2018, in Tyler. He was born October 5, 1946, in Grand Saline to Bluford Dean and Tempie Rebecca Tunnell White.
As a 1965 graduate of Van High School, Mr. White was a lifelong Vandal supporter and fan. Dean played football for TCU in 1965-1966. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1970 and then received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1973 from the University of Houston Law Center. Dean was an active member of the Van Zandt County Bar Association, where he was a past president for several years. Mr. White was also a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas since 1973. Dean started practicing Law in 1974 and opened his own Law Practice in 1976. He was a huge fan of sports and loved sharing that with all the people around him. One of Dean's proudest accomplishments was coaching his sons in Little League Baseball. He loved his Cardinals.
Mr. White is preceded in death by his parents, Bluford and Tempie White; son, Justin White; and his mother-in-law, Bess Van Orden.
Dean is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen White of Canton; two sons and their wives: Nolan Dean and Susan White of Canton and Jeremy Ward and Elizabeth White of Leander; daughter and her husband, Rachel and Louis Lepine of Austin; two grandchildren: Robert Galin Dean White and Leo James Lepine; and his brother, Jeff White of Van.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
