Clarence Elwood Brinkley, Jr., of Ben Wheeler, TX passed from this life to go home with Jesus on September 22, 2019. Mr. Brinkley was born on August 10, 1935 to Naomi Baggett Brinkley and Clarence Elwood Brinkley, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julia Ann Day Brinkley of Ben Wheeler, his children: Michael and wife, Emily, of Grand Prairie, TX, Wayne and wife, Debbie, of Ben Wheeler, TX, DeAnne Pickett and husband, John, of Ben Wheeler, TX, and Monty and wife, Tracy, of Grand Prairie, TX. He had 13 grandchildren: Jonathan and Joshua Brinkley, Jennifer Oliver, Jessica Hoover, Benjamin and David Brinkley, Julia Pickard, Courtney and Cody Pickett, Jeremiah, Sam, Anna, and Alayna Brinkley and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters: Glenda Brinkley of Rhode Island, Starr Medeiros of Rhode Island, and Jewell Baptista of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Brinkley was a long time resident of Ben Wheeler and owned an automotive repair business, Brinkley Automotive, in Canton, TX. for 16 years. Mr. Brinkley was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Ben Wheeler and enjoyed greeting people at the door each Sunday.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Ben Wheeler, 5516 Farm to Market Rd. 858, Ben Wheeler, TX 75754.
