Charles went to Longview High School. He met and married Susie Ann Fitzgerald. He was a member of Last Days Church in Canton, TX. Mr. Mitchell was the owner of RRR Canopies and Tables where he served the community during several events. He enjoyed spoiling his grandkids and being there for them in every way possible. His hobbies were barbequing for his family, fishing with friends, playing dominoes, and raising farm animals. Charles Mitchell was someone that was loving, friendly and there's not a stranger he did not meet that he wasn't willing to help, whether giving advice or anything. He always tried to be there for everyone showing love and gratitude . The strong man that he was provided for 9 kids and a wife. He then proceeded to raise his grandkids as well.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his Father, Lonnie Mitchell Sr; Mother, Ola Mae Mitchell Wallace; Sister, Clara Mitchell; Brother, James Henry Mitchell; twin children: Rodney and Dana Mitchell; and grandchildren: Kristeena King, Kenyon Mitchell and Patrick Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susie Ann Mitchell of Canton; five sons: Tony Mitchell of Canton, Charles Mitchell Jr. and wife, Renee, of Tyler, Derrick Mitchell of Canton, David Mitchell of Tyler and Jason Mitchell of Canton; four daughters: Teresa Staples and husband, Jason, of Tyler, Sherry Mitchell of Tyler, Katrina Mitchell of Tyler, and Kristen Mitchell of Tyler; brother, Lonnie Mitchell Jr,Wayne Wallace and Dwayne Wallace. of Longview; three sisters: Alma Mitchell Adams of Longview, Martha Ann Mitchell of Longview and Ola Marie Mitchell of Longview; grandchildren: Devan Mitchell, Braxton Johnson, Braylon Phifer, Josiah and Jamarion King, Jason, Jeremiah and Kamia Mitchell, Jada and Ta'Nyah Staples; step grand children: Savanah, Cheyenne, Rodney and Madison Brown, Tre and Tiaunah Staples and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Terrance Carter, Jason Staples, Curt Hall, Jason Mitchell and James Sockwell. Honorary pallbearers are Reggie Coffman and Ronald Wilson.
Services will be 11 am Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Pastor Peggy Harris, Minister Anthony Prox, Rev. Herman Fitzgerald and Evangelist Linda Brass officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Canton.
