Carolyn Sue King

A graveside service will be held for Carolyn Sue King, 82, of Murchinson, Texas at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas. There will be a gathering of friends and family at Eubank Funeral Home at 12:00 pm.

Carolyn went home to the Lord peacefully on September 24, 2024 at home. She was born on September 25, 1941 in Fouke, Arkansas to James Ragan and Maurice Shafer Ragan.

Carolyn or as her grandchildren called her “Nanu” was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a devoted wife and mother. Carolyn and her beloved, Austin had 66 wonderful years together, full of love and laughter.

Carolyn worked in retail when the couple lived in Mesquite. She had her own card shop in Big Town Shopping Mall for many years. After moving to Murchinson in 1997, she worked as a home healthcare worker. Carolyn shared her kind and caring heart for those she helped. She was a long-time member of 1st Methodist Church in Murchinson.

Carolyn enjoyed traveling, she and Austin took their motorhome all over America. At home she enjoyed sewing, quilting and working in her flower beds; roses were her favorite to grow. Carolyn’s biggest joy was planning, getting ready and having family get togethers. Preparing meals and knowing her family would soon be together would make her smile.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, James and Maurice Ragan; siblings: Doris, Linda and Charles.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Austin King; son, James King; daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Howie Foreman; grandchildren: Aaron and Crystal Foreman, Amanda and Clint Godwin, Logan King, Ezra King, Randi King; great-grandchildren: Skylar Foreman, Brody and Bo Foreman, Dakota Neal, Tuff Neal, Kade Neal, C. J. Godwin and Skylar Godwin; her best friend (sister), Marilyn Davis; many nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends; and her sweet dog, Zoe.
