Tom was born in Moundsville, WV, to Hubert Conner and Anna (Ruckman) Conner. Tom graduated from Moundsville High School and later attended West Liberty College, graduating with a B.S. in Physics. Tom had a passion for playing guitar, which was self-taught at an early age. In high school and college, he played in various bands, which funded his college education. Tom worked in various managerial positions at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. for 25 years until his early retirement. He worked for Standards Testing Laboratories where he published several papers, later becoming self-employed as a forensic mismatch tire expert. In retirement, he was a solo musician playing live at weddings and events, writing, and recording his own music. Tom also had a passion for astronomy, and would spend long hours taking and processing astro-photos, many of which were displayed at local photography exhibits. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed boating, fishing for Walleye, vacationing, wintering in Arizona, and visiting with friends and family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith (Webb) Conner; daughter, Colleen (Todd) Styer; son, Matthew (Lisa) Conner; and grandchildren, Max Conner, Cameron Styer, Evan Styer, and Emily Conner.
