Mike Burich, 73, of Port Charlotte FL, formerly of Akron, passed away on March 23, following a brief illness.
He was a graduate of John R. Buchtel High School, class of 1968, and the University of Akron in 1971.
Mike was an honor student and athlete, playing varsity and JV Basketball and Baseball. He also coached Little League Baseball for WABL, and became an avid golfer in later years. He and his friends formed the "Sixth Street Burden" band, playing in local clubs around Akron.
In Florida, he was well known in the auto industry in both management and sales at various locations. He was also an airplane salesman and licensed pilot.
Mike enjoyed golfing, travelling and spending time with his family and friends in Florida and Ohio. He will be forever remembered for his good natured personality, infectious laugh and love for family.
He was preceded in death by parents James and Roberta Burich and brother in law, Bob Ballway. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, devoted siblings Rosie Ballway and Ken Burich, nephew Mike Ballway, and niece Barbie Ballway (Sam) Topoleski, all of Massillon.
He is also survived by stepson and wife Brendon and Chandra Wolcott and grandchildren Jullianna, Arianna, Sophia, Ryleigh and Eli, of Florida.
