John Savage, 94, of Massillon, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at home. He was born April 22, 1924 at his home in Alabama, the son of Robert and Maggie Wiseman Savage. John was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Jo Anderson Savage. They were married on August 11, 1946.
John was a World War II and Korean War Veteran of the Navy. He served on the USS Princeton.
He retired from the Republican Steel after 32 years of service.
John is survived by his daughters, Linda (Bill) Borton of Dalton and Jackie (Tom) Robinette of McArthur, daughter in law Lois Haggerty Savage of Kentucky; grandchildren, Todd (Kimberly) Borton, Kelly (Dan) Gill, Tami (Darin) Collins, Wendy August, Sandy Savage, Kari (Donnie) Stewart, Craig (Amanda) Case, Eric (Cindy) Case, Anna (James) Davis, Emme (Ryan) Savage; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John Wayne Savage and Mark David Savage; daughter, Karen Jane Savage, sisters, Fannie Pearl Anderson, Mary Elizabeth Savage and brother Luther Willis (Billy) Savage.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park, 5001 Everhard Rd NW Canton Ohio 44718.
