John Robert Holb

John was born in Akron on December 18, 1941 to the late John and Nellie (Geiger) Holb. On March 5, 1966, he married Elizabeth JoAnn (Steele) Holb and they celebrated 30 years of marriage together before she passed in 1996. John worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Cummins Diesel for 35 years before he retired (for the first time). He later went on to work for Akron Auto Auction for 10 years as a driver. John's biggest hobby was anything to do with cars. He loved drag racing, car shows, and Nascar.

John is survived by four children: Angel (Dave) Agnes, Steve (Jen) Holb, Vicki (Jim) Ulry, and Sherri McFadden; seven grandchildren: Allison, Kyle, Cassy (Nick), Autumn, Hunter, Nathan, and Erin; two sisters, Bette Holb and Patty (Dave) Porosky, and one brother, Dave Holb.

Along with his parents and loving wife, John is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Holb.

Calling hours for John will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Burket officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
