Jim was born on August 9th, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Eleanor McClusky. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Economics and an MBA from Miami University. On June 7, 1959, Jim married Margaret “Peggy” Chenot. Together they raised three sons, Kevin, John and Brian and always provided them with a loving and supportive home in northeastern Ohio.
Jim was proud of his service to our country from 1959-1973 as a Captain in the USAF and later serving in the USAF Reserves. He went on to become a respected member of the Northeast Ohio business community in both private enterprise and education. Although he enjoyed his time in business, his fondest memories were as an educator at Akron University and Stark State College where he was a beloved and respected teacher and colleague. Additionally, he volunteered every holiday season for the Akron Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with his wife, Peggy, helping with their Holiday Tree Festival fundraising events.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy and survived by his sons Kevin McClusky and daughter-in-law, Toni Marsh of Clinton, Ohio; John McClusky and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Barrows of Fremont, CA; Brian McClusky of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Liselotte and Scott Baker of Spring Lake, NC; John and Alexandria McClusky of New Windsor, MD; and his great-grandchildren Liam and Skylar McClusky.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Marlboro Cemetery in Marlboro, Ohio at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 20th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Akron Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Fund where Jim and Peggy volunteered https://www.akronchildrens.org/pages/Ways-to-Give-to-Akron-Children-s-Hospital.html
