Dora (Green) Mead, age 89 of Canton, died Thursday, Oct. 28. 2010 at her residence in Jackson Township. She was born July 25, 1921 to the late George and Lucy (Weis) Green in Dundalk, Maryland. Dora lived most of her life in the Lake Cable area and worked for Stern & Mann’s department store, Rice Pharmacy and Fisher Foods. She attended The Canton Baptist Temple and was a charter member of the Red Lantern Flames square dance club in Brewster, Ohio and Lake Cable Retirees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph J. Mead Sr. in 1995 and two brothers. She is survived by a son, Ralph J. (Debbie) Mead Jr. of Navarre and two daughters, Karen Mead of Calimesa, CA; Rebecca (David) Lodge of Palm City, FL; grandchildren, Zachary Sturm and his partner Marc Galbraith of Long Beach, CA, Nathan Mead of Richmond, VA, and Yolanda (Aaron) Chapman of Concord, CA.; great-grandchildren Zeke and Lucy Chapman; sister Mickey Mayle of Canton; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Alice, Annette, Betty, Helen, Shirley, Judy, Mame, Joyce and many others; and her grand-dog Beau.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road N.W., Canton, Ohio with Pastor David Harmon officiating. Friends will be received 4-7pm Sunday, (TONIGHT) October 31, at the funeral home. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Dora’s name to Aultman Hospice, 2821 Woodlawn N.W. Canton, Ohio 44708. The family wishes to thank Aultman Hospice for their care and compassion of Dora to which they expressly would like contributions made to.
