Son of the late Esther (Wood) and Abraham Smith. Loving husband of the late Anne S. Smith for over sixty years before her passing on December 3, 2022. Beloved father of Randy McCallum (and the late Robert McCallum), Roberta Staula (and Robert Staula), and Tracey Smith, all of Sharon. Cherished grandfather of Julia Staula and Nicole Staula. Brother of Eleanor Rachleff-Serow. Uncle of Melissa, Allison, and David Rachleff.
Philip was born in Springfield, MA on January 16, 1934. A graduate of Classical High School and American International College, both in Springfield, he was proud to have served in the army. A renaissance man, Philip was a grocery clerk, ice cream man, estimator, and owner of his own print company, P&A Print Service. He loved playing poker and watching horse racing and golf. He also loved playing golf, jogging, and the satisfaction of a good meal. His true passion was his family. After losing the love of his life, he took great comfort in the love and care of his daughters, and the knowledge that he would be beside his bride, as he called her, again one day.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 10:45 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip’s name may be made to The Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org.
