Devoted mother of Bruce Sorota and his wife Laurie of Andover, MA, Rich Sorota and his wife Abby of Grand Rapids, MI, and Elizabeth Orbuch and her husband Murray of New York, NY. Cherished grandmother of Ted, Tim, Benjamin, James, Addison and Zoe. Barbara was preceded in death by her three brothers, Donald Shapiro, Kenneth Shapiro, and Jerry Shapiro.
Barbara was born in Boston and raised in Brookline, MA. She grew to love her home state and her beloved Red Sox and Patriots. She graduated from Boston University and became a public school teacher across the state. She was devoted to her family, her extended family, and friends. She always looked for ways to make others smile and lit up every room she entered.
Services will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA, followed by a get-together from 3:45 PM to 7:00 PM at Renaissance Boston Patriot Place Hotel in Foxborough, MA.
