He was born in Somerville, MA, the son of William T. McSweeney and Grace (Marsh) McSweeney on January 8, 1934.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Nancy (Wood) McSweeney, his sister, Sheila (McSweeney) Crawford and his brother, Patrick McSweeney, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Bobbi Jean, Beth, and Joan and his brother Jim.
Bill graduated from St. Leo College Prep School in Florida in 1953 he then enlisted in the Army in December 1956, honorably discharged in December 1958.
He worked as a baker in Van Nuys making Keebler cookies, retiring in 1981. He then worked as a security guard for several companies: retiring from United Protection Services in 2012.
A funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24th at 10:30 am at St. John Eudes Catholic Church at 9901 Mason Avenue, Chatsworth, CA, with graveside service at noon at Oakwood Memorial Park, also in Chatsworth.
