Leslie’s generosity, willingness to help others, and her brilliant sense of humor made her beloved to everyone who knew her. She was well known for her compassion and her beauty, both inside and out, as she was always ready to lend a hand or offer a kind word to those in need.
Leslie was a woman of many great talents, big passions, and endless creativity. Her love for and contribution to music and the music industry was a strong and continuous thread throughout her life. In addition to her love of music, Leslie was a revered and accomplished cook, with stories of her delicious dishes following her throughout her life. She also found peace and joy in gardening, painting, art collecting, and acting as a patron of the arts. Leslie also was well loved for her natural ability to take care of the people in her life. Consistently named “#1 Band Mom” by her husband’s bandmates for years and was beautifully storied by the children of others who grew up in her care. Leslie knew instinctively how to make everyone around her feel loved, special, and at home.
Leslie's legacy lives on through her two daughters, Pearl Aday and Amanda Aday, their husbands Scott Ian and David “Chill” Napier, respectively, and her grandson Revel Young Ian, who was a constant source of bliss and pride in her life. Leslie’s wild life and unique parenting style will forever leave an indelible mark in their hearts and souls. Leslie is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Sherry and Steve Dershimer, as well as nephews Eugene Edmonds, Jonathan Dershimer, and Robert Edmonds, and nieces Shaundra Dershimer and Ava Edmonds. Leslie was predeceased by her older brother, Robert Edmonds, and younger brother, Tom Edmonds.
Leslie’s former husband, Meat Loaf Aday, died at the age of 74 in January of 2022 in Nashville, TN.
Leslie had a gentle and mischievous spirit. She loved to laugh hard, celebrate, play her music “real loud,” and always sing along. She had a generous heart and unwavering love.
Leslie has many friends who love her and will miss her bright spirit deeply.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have been part of her remarkable life's many adventures.
