It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of James "Jim" Walter Nichol at his home in Campbellton on September 17, 2012 at the age of 60. He was born in Campbellton on January 16, 1952, the son of Walter and Hazel Nichol of Tide Head. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Boyd. He is survived by sisters Marilyn (Fred) Hanley of Moncton, Julie (Mike) Seliske of Regina, Sharon (Gary) Hickey of Tide Head, brother Bill (Flor) Nichol of Moncton, twelve nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.
Jim was described as a gentle soul with an infectious smile. They say people may forget what you say or do but they will never forget how you made them feel. Jim had a talent for making everyone feel like they were the only person in the room. His genuine kindness will be remembered and his spirit will continue to live on in those of us lucky enough to have known him.
The funeral was held Saturday September 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Father Maurice Frenette officiating. Pallbearers were Bill, David and Jamie Hanley, Shawn Hickey, Chris Barrett, Howard Dunnells and Danny Farrar. Interment at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery.
