Helen had very fond memories of growing up in Londonderry and she loved life with all her brothers and sisters. She was a devoted daughter and the family spent many summer weeks at the sprawling farm house in Londonderry with siblings and her nieces and nephews.
During her Campbellton years she devoted herself to her children, her home, and her St Thomas Aquinas community. She was CWL member and helped out with badge testing for Girl Guides. Many a nervous little girl got her homemaking badge making toast and tea for Helen. Helen was a den mother to many of John’s, Richard’s and Jane’s friends. Helen had a wide circle of friends and she loved her Friday night Tiger games with Aunt Barb and the gang!
After the kids left home Helen went back to work as a Ward Clerk at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital. She loved her work and her wonderful hospital colleagues. She had the odd complaint about the doctors handwriting!
In her later years Helen was content and happy to be living on her own. She loved visits from family and friends and going for drives. She loved visiting with the Caissy clan at their camp in Kedgwick.
A very sincere thank you to Karen Cyr, Helen’s caregiver and long time friend of more than 30 years. Many thanks to Dr. D. Robichaud who was always there for his eldest patient who was still living independently.
