Becky Jolynn Pearson

Becky Jo-Lynn Pearson (Leggett) passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021 in Campbell River, British Columbia at the age of 64. Jo-Lynn was born on April 2, 1957 and was a middle child of seven children.

Jo-Lynn led and interesting life. Having spent many of her formative years in British Columbia, Jo-Lynn also spent some years in Germany as a part of the Canadian Armed Forces reserves. She spent 25+ years as a foster parent and has three children; two of whom are adopted and the third raised as her own. Jo-Lynn believed every child should be loved, nurtured, and cared for and she loved her three children fiercely. Olivia, David, and Michael: know that Jo-Lynn did and will forever love you. Jo-Lynn is the author of “I Grew You in My Heart”, her first published work, which was written for her son David.

Jo-Lynn will be forever missed and is survived by her loving daughter Olivia Pearson and sons David Pearson and Michael Neuman, siblings Tom (Vivian), Heather (Shine), Herb (Susan), and Teresa, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Jo-Lynn loved to laugh, and she loved nature, the ocean, travel, reading, and writing.

Thank you to Dr. Ramsey and her medical team at Campbell River Hospital. We are grateful for the respectful, dignified, and compassionate care you provided. Lastly, a special thank you to Mike Priestap (Executor) and his wife Sharon, for their unwavering friendship with Jo-Lynn and for agreeing to care for Olivia.

Jo-Lynn, you are at peace and pain-free. We love you, and we will see you on the other side.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 779 Steenbuck Dr. on October 2nd. Due to Covid restrictions, there will only be 50 people allowed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jo-Lynn’s honour.
