He was born May 8, 1924, in Harrisburg, son of the late Charles and Edna (Eckert) Snell.
He was a veteran serving in the US Army at El Paso, TX and in Eastern Virginia as an anti-aircraft artillery gunner. Prior to retirement he was employed at Bethlehem Steel for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Snell in 2009 and step son Alexander K. Hooten.
Bob and his wife Doris traveled extensively covering the east coast to pursue their passion for dealing in gold, silver, antiques, collectables and fine china, as well as traveling abroad making seventeen voyages to Europe on the Queen Mary II. Bob loved classical music and operas, and was a knowledgeable collector of music of that genre.
He is survived by friends David Delbaugh and Montrue Fletcher.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 11:00AM, from Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, with viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be private in Barner’s Cemetery at Liverpool.
