Nikolaos was born in Platanos, Nafpaktias, Greece on September 4, 1934 and passed away on October 7, 2024.
Nikolaos is survived by his wife, Christina N. Papatsounis as well as their two children, George (Christina) Papatsounis and Athena (Thomas) Mallios. He and Christina are blessed with four grandchildren, Demetra, Yiannis (Athena), Nicholas and Michael. Niko also has a brother and two sisters in Greece. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Camp Hill, PA.
Nikolaos originally immigrated to New York City at the age of sixteen. He returned to Platanos several years later, where he met and married his sweetheart at the age of twenty four. Shortly after marrying, they moved to the United States, settling in York, PA after a brief period in New York. Niko was a successful restaurateur, opening and operating several establishments in Central PA. Nikolaos and Christina recently celebrated sixty six years of loving marriage.
Funeral Service will held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Dr., Camp Hill. Burial will be at East Harrisburg Cemetery. Viewing will be at 12:00 PM Saturday until the time of the service at the Cathedral.
