Herbert Stouffer was born in Harrisburg on February 17, 1933. He was the second son of Andrew and Helen Stouffer also of Harrisburg.
Born and raised in Harrisburg, Herbert was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and a loving husband and father of 4 mischievous sons.
He is a graduate of Susquehanna High in Harrisburg where he ran track and was Quarterback of the High School football team. Herb later attended University of Pennsylvania where he studied accounting. He was employed at AMP Incorporated (“Tyco”) where he began his career as a bookkeeper at the age of 19 and retired as a Director of Accounting, Corporate Logistics.
Herb met his wife of 49 years, the former Barbara Anne Rose, at Amp (Tyco) and was married January 27 1961 until her passing on August 23, 2010.
Herbert is also preceded in death by, his brother, Donald Stouffer and his eldest son, Steven C Stouffer.
Herbert is survived by his 3 sons, Jeffrey Lynn Stouffer of Swiftwater PA, Craig Stouffer of Danville California and Brian Herbert Stouffer of Cape Coral Florida, his brother Jim Stoufferof London, Canada, and grandchildren: Jeffrey Stouffer, Melanie Stouffer, Amy Flinchbaugh, Christopher Stouffer, Carrie Stouffer and Jacob Stouffer, and great-grandson Dawson Flinchbaugh.
In lieu of flowers, Herb would ask that you extend a random,unsolicited act of kindness for someone in his name, or make a donation to his favorite charity, the Salvation Army.
A service will be held at Neill Funeral home at 3401 Market St, Camp Hill on Saturday December 12 with a meet and greet at 12:00 with services starting at 1:00PM to celebrate the life of Herbert Leon Stouffer.
