Urania Maria Avila Silva

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the beautiful Urania Maria Avila Silva, beloved wife of the late Inacio Da Silva, on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Urania was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on August 13, 1940. She was a long time resident of the Terra Nova Senior Citizens building in Toronto, Ontario.

Urania was the proud mother of her only child, Rui Da Silva and his wife, Kris. Left to feel the weight of this tremendous loss are the loves of her life; her grandchildren, Calvin Da Silva and his wife, Stephanie, Tyler Da Silva and his partner, Alexis McLennan, and her pride and joy, Abbey Da Silva. Beloved great grandmother of Nathan Da Silva.

Urania will be sorely missed by her sister, Osvalda Barbara and her husband, Luis, and her brother, Cels Pimentel and his wife, Mary Lou (Lourdes). Urania was predeceased by her sister, Esmeralda Ferraz, and her brother-in-law, Jose Duarte Ferraz. She will be dearly missed by her much-loved nieces and nephews whom she adored.

A very special thank you to Fernanda Carrusca, Fatima Borges and Chantel Baker for being such wonderful ”amigas” to Urania. We cannot thank you all enough for the companionship, comfort and care you have all given to our beloved mom.

To Urania’s extended family, Cec and Jeanette Kwiatkowski, Kimberley Winn, Lisa Winn and Elissa Kwiatkowski, your support and love meant the world to her and to us.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario from 9:00am - 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 with a mass to be held in the chapel at 12:00pm. A reception will be held for family and friends at the funeral home after the service. Cremation to follow.
