Margot and family,
Sincerest sympathies to you in the loss of your dear Mike. We will always remember the good times we had as teenagers, especially playing tennis at the old tennis courts.
Mike was one of a kind  with his dry humour and wit.

Even if you could pick a brother-in-law, you couldn't have imagined what a gem you were getting with Michael. We lived next door to one another when Mike and Margot (such a respectful, happy couple) and Phil and I were just starting our married lives with young children; their Kimberly, our Jennifer, and later Kim's sister, Stacey. The girls had fun playing and going from house to house. One evening as I backed my car out with Marg  in the passenger seat, I saw Mike waving, I thought he wants to tell us something, and without putting the car into drive I continued to back up and smash into his brand new 2 day old vehicle! Oh, I'll never forget that look on his face that went from shock to horror - their old car safely in the drive without a scratch, the new one badly dented in the side door panel on the road.  The was the beginning.  Luckily, Phil had already established a much better impression on Mike.
Phil and Mike were close, they golfed once a week together for over 30+ years, played ball together, and were always ready to lend a hand when one or the other needed it.  A sweet situation. We all enjoyed many Christmas Eves, birthdays, vacations, and family get togethers, first with the Dechenes, and later on with the Kummer clan. All whom share many of their brother's fine traits.
Mike like his favourite dessert -lemon pie - added colour to any gathering with his wit, leaving the room filled with laughter. Thank you for being a loving husband, great Dad, Grandfather, sibling, brother-in-law and friend. Recalling so many good times will keep smiles on our faces that you put there with ease. May all that love comfort your family, and friends now.

       So very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Husband and Father. I have many fond memories of Mike in Grade School and in the years following. He will be truly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

It was so sad to hear of Mike’s passing.  I worked at the Hydro with Mike for many years.  I fondly remember the times when a group of us would get together to play poker back in the day.

Mike retired from Energy+ Inc  (previously Cambridge Hydro) March 31, 2009 after 31 years.  Mike was such a respected, professional  across the Organization.  He was a wonderful resource as a volunteer, handyman and leader.  He left his legacy with his friends and colleagues.  Mike did make a difference!

I know about his fix it skills as over the years he always offered to help me, without even asking, to make repairs to my home.  He was a quiet man but he did love to talk about you guys all the time. He will truly me missed
