Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, she came to Canada on the Queen Mary in 1946 after serving in the Civil Nursing Reserve. Margaret was a generous, frugal, and friendly Christian woman. Many will remember her as an active member of Temple Baptist Church. She was always on the go, especially when she would take the bus to shop at St. Jacob’s market. She loved to knit, creating a wool jumper for each of her grandchildren. We will especially remember her baking – she was a baker extraordinaire! No one will ever compare to her level of skill. Margaret will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her son John Hart (Reta), grandchildren Glen Broeckel, Keith Broeckel, Lisa Cooper-Vest, Matthew Cooper, Jeremy Hart, Jill Hart, Jonathan Hart, Janna Hart, and Jacelyn Sear, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband John Hart, daughter Evelyn Cooper, and her step-daughter Carol Broeckel. A private interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be held in Calgary, Alberta at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Fairview Mennonite Home or the Temple Baptist Church. Special thanks to Kathryn McCuaig, Joan Sutherland, and Liz Gamble for their enduring friendships to Margaret.
