Dad has been such a good dad and Ken..... was an Amazing Man.
I'm proud of his career accomplishments for years in the Radio biz and being Santa in parades and Sears stores for almost 30 years. Our Dad really was Santa Claus. I am always amazed at how well read and informed he is. Our Dad really did know everything.
For all my life as the middle one of 5, I remember Dad would turn any little thing into a big event. Dad was our fun maker.
He'd take us on drives everywhere in summer. Winters were so fun, when the Port Credit river to froze, dad would take a car load of us down to the rivers edge, lace our skates up tight for a skate outside with hot cocoa. Many years he'd build whole ice rink in our back yard. Spraying the hose layer after layer til it was just right and we'd all pile on and twirl and race, the whole neighbourhood was welcome.
If we had watermelon for desert, we'd get salt on it and spit the pits off the balcony, with a contest who's the farthest. Usually Dad.
Even in the rain, we take drives and he'd try to out run the storm. On a country road with no other cars around, he'd swerve from lane to lane while we all swayed back and forth, and drive fast over the bumps. Not dangerously, just hilariously.
Dad was a wonderful Grandfather, He took many trips west to see us. One Christmas he and Joan came west and he wanted to be santa and surprize the kids. I bought a Santa suit and Christmas Eve we had several couples over plus 17 kids. Dad HoHoHo'd down the staircase and every wide eyed kid got a present. That was 32 years ago and my friends kids still talk about it.
A few years ago when I was here, dad wanted to see what his complex looked like from the air. He took Arlene and I on an adventure in a little plane and I took some pictures, I sent him a blow up and he not only loved it himself he made copies for all the neighbours who wanted one. That's my Dad.
Being in radio, we grew up in a house filled with music. Big band, you name it, several years ago Luther Vandross sang "Dance with my father again". I sure knew I wanted to dance with my father again. My next visit all us girls were in dad's living room with the music on and I got to dance with my father again. We danced and danced - the jitterbug - until one of us fell. Not my 86 year old Dad, but me!
I had the blessed fortune of spending an extra long time with Dad last July. He took Arlene and I on drives and adventures all over - Every time an event. We were together for lots of stories, lunches, dinners, daily happy hour.....being with him was always Happy Hour and I'm really going to miss him. 
OUR KEN was larger than life itself, I think his message to us all today would be.....Life is for the Living........Live it Up!!!!!

I will miss my one and only Grandpa.  I will also feel the sadness of one less bright, friendly face in this world.  His soul, though. will stay with us, and for that we are blessed.

Spending time with my Papa, were among my fondest childhood memories. Grandfathers are magicians who create wonderful memories, they pass down words of wisdom, and possess a limitless amount of interesting stories gathered from the past.
 Rest in peace Papa.

Condolences to Ken's immediate and extended family.  How appropriate for one of his children, Barb and his latter life Special Friend, Arlene to be able to share stories, jokes and laughter with Ken as he prepared for his next big adventure.  89 years old of living a life we  can all aspire to.  Congratulations to Ken for leaving such a fabulous book of memories for his family and friends.

We were so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. Ken was such a special man!For many years Ken was a wonderful friend and dear companion to our Mom (Arlene Wood).Ken was always kind and caring.  He really knew how to live life and brought joy to everyone.We were always so happy to have Ken at so many of our family events --- he could always be counted upon to bring the gift of laughter to any situation.  Barb was saddened to read of your father's passing in the paper.  But the many happy times you have spent together over the years will last a lifetime!

That day at Emily and Jeremy's wedding, when your grandfather and my mother acted so goofy and had so much fun is burned into my memory as one of the most lovely times I have ever had.  So sorry for your loss, he was one of the good guys.

My dear brother, I will miss our phone conversations, jokes and reminisceing who can I query re our family history now?  My love and sympathy to all the family, how he loved you, and was so proud of all of you.
