It is with heavy hearts the Bush family announce the passing of Graham Arnold Bush. On Friday July 18th he passed away peacefully with much of his family by his side.
Graham was born to Archibald and Elizabeth (Parker) Bush with his five sisters in Burlington Ontario, moving to Galt in 1948 as a station operator with Ontario Hydro. Beloved father of Janet, Patricia, Doug, Carol, Anne, Laurel, Linda, Blair and Wade. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Sara, Christine, Michael, Danielle, Kaitlin, Kristen, Sidney, Clarice, Blake, Cody and Keats as well as great-grandchildren Alice and Fiona. He is survived by his partner Betty Ramsey, and sisters Francis Nelson, Helen McKercher and Shirley Davy.
Graham was a community minded man; serving nine years as a Cambridge Alderman, two years as Waterloo Regional Councillor, President of Galt Kinsmen, Chairman of the Galt United Way, Director of the St. John's Order, President and Treasurer of the Galt Sportsman Club and was a candidate for Mayor in 1982. After the flood of 1974, Graham helped shape the Cambridge riverfront as Chairman of the Galt & Suburban Planning Board and member of the Grand River Conservation Authority. In addition to his civil service, Graham spent his formative years as a real estate broker, insurance salesman and entrepreneur, as the head of Graham Bush Limited.
Graham will always be known as "The Bullmoose" to his friends and family, a naturalist and conservationist, he loved to spend time sharing his knowledge and working hard at Golden City Lake (Huntsville). We release him into the arms of his creator. A private service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his memory to the Galt Legion Poppy Fund or the Grand River Conservation Foundation.
