Shelley, Nathan and Mariah and the rest of the Bijl and Miller families....we were all so lucky to have had the pleasure of being a part of Gerrit's beautiful, but too short a life.  We will miss his huge smile, his quick wit, and seeing such love in his eyes for his wife and children.  We will miss him more than words can say.

We were very saddened by the much too premature passing of Gerrit.  We will dearly miss Gerrit, a guy with a charming smile with whom not only I shared work time but regularly commented on soccer games and especially when his bellowed Dutch team was involved. Gerry was always willing to help out his many friends.  Helping others seemed to come naturally to Gerry...tutoring, helping with homework and projects, teaching us how to ski, or simply listening and providing his wise advice. 
It was an honour to have Gerry as a groomsman at our wedding.
