Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, Shirley and William Rhodes and was the loving wife of Gordon Porter. She was the wonderful mother to Kelly and Steve, his fiancée Jenn Lahey and was adored by her grandchildren Owen and Sophia. She will also be dearly missed by her younger sister Virginia Sullivan and her husband Tim, along with her nieces Amy Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan-Witty and her husband Jason Witty. Her great-nieces Sydney and Aubrey will also miss her love in their lives.
Known by many nick-names – Dee, Deedis, Ger, Aunt Dee-Dee, Gramma Dee, Momface and Mom, Geraldine had so much love to give that she made everybody she met feel like they were part of her family. Her love of her gardens, her patio and fountain along with the special times Gerrie and her husband Gord spent on long country drives, ending in Port Dover, Goderich and Southampton will be remembered by her family forever.
Geraldine’s family would like to give a very special and heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at The Grand River Hospital Home Hemo Dialysis unit. This supportive and caring team helped Gerrie and Gord through a very difficult transition and trained them to take the daily dialysis process to the comfort of their own home. In particular, the family would like to thank Dr. Laura Gregor, Nancy, Karen, Cassandra, Elizabeth, Mary-Margaret, Sabina, Sandra, Stephanie and Kate.
