With great sadness, the family of Dr. John Carman Dyer announces his passing, at the age of 92, on Sunday, June 9, 2013. John was a long-time dentist in Galt (Cambridge), bon vivant, entrepreneur, formulator-of-projects, teacher and craftsman. He inspired many people around him during his long life. He leaves his beloved wife Elizabeth (nee Windeler). He was appreciated and loved by his children Jane, Anne, Alison, John, and Cam, and their spouses; grandchildren Christopher, Alison, Phoebe, Paige, Rebecca, Clark, Quinn, and Renee; and two young great-grandchildren, Asher and Arya — and he returned the feelings.
John was born in Mount Albert and loved Ontario farmland. When young and in old age he absorbed the beauty of Lake Huron at Bruce Beach. He attended Queens University to become a dentist and then settled in Galt. He played several musical instruments, (especially during wartime) and liked to arrange music. His parents were Carman Dyer, a preacher, and Maude (McWatters).
A service in memory of John is arranged at Coutts Funeral Home (96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge) for Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1 PM. Please come!
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
