God has called one of his angels’ home. It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Barbara Maria Kozakowski on Monday, August 05, 2019 at home surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 82. Born in Śrem, Poznań, Poland. Reunited with her beloved husband Mieczyslaw (Michael) 1996. Always in our hearts and forever loved by her children Jadwiga Grace McNeil (Bruce), Richard Kozakowski and Michael Kozakowski (Lisa Liima). Cherished Nana of Alysha Hyde (Alex) and Steven McNeil, and step-Nana to Michael Liima, Kaitlyn Liima, and step-Grandnana to Karlie Liima-Jackson. Will forever be remembered by her sister Krysia Hohenstein (Werner) of Germany. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Dionizy Slugaj, baby brother Stanley Slugaj, brother Zdzislaw (Jessie) Slugaj (1994), Ciocia (aunt) Natalja Gralak (2005), Wujek (uncle) Jozef Gralak (1994), Cousin Irene Damon (Gralak-2014), stepmother Wanda Slugaj, sister Elizabeth Slugaj, brother Marcin Slugaj, sister-in-law Lenia Slugaj, father and mother-in-law John and Anna Kozakowski, sister-in-law Stella Reich (Kozakowski), brother-in-laws Eddie and Ted Kozakowski. Survived by sister-in-law Theresa Kozakowski. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews from Cambridge, Germany, Holland, and Michigan, and Cousins Jan and Alice Gralak of Michigan. Barbara was a long-time employee (retired) of Hayes Dana.
Family and friends will be received at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory RC Church, 10 St. Gregory Drive, Cambridge on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11 am. Internment at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge. Reception to follow at St. Gregory RC Church.
If desired, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.
