Mrs. Ying Lan Wong

She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Lisa and Betty (Bon), three sons Ricky, John and David (Elaine) as well as ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She and Dad worked hard to provide for the family and give them a good life filled with opportunities. She succeeded as her extended family are all happy, content and successful in their lives. After her retirement, Mom and Dad travelled back to Hong Kong and China to visit family and old friends, and this became a highlight of her life. Mom was a very social and active person who was part of the Thornview Seniors Association where she participated in daily tai chi, bowling and other activities, always game to try something new. She was also active in the Wong’s Association and loved nothing more than playing mahjong or heading to Grey Eagle Casino to play the penny slots. To the end, she was a gracious and cheerful person.

A Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for those wishing to pay their respects. A Funeral Service will take place at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kong officiating.
