I had the true HONOUR of knowing Bill when he was with PBA, one of my Dad’s closest and most respected colleagues . Bill’s work ethic was second to none, his sense of humour would instantly change the dynamic in any room, he was intelligent and there was NO issue that stood in his way. Bill loved LIFE and approached it with enthusiasm and his particular brand of energy. I realize this post is rather late but my heart was completely broken hearing of Bill’s passing. Bill made this world a BETTER PLACE and I’m grateful for everything he did for me.

OMG, Jan!! I just this morning found out about Bill’s passing. It’s one of the few drawbacks about living on the Island. Needless to say, I consider it a huge loss so I can only imagine how you and the girls feel. Bill truly was one of my favourite pals and the fact that he was a Scot (like me) only added to that feeling. I did try locating you but was unsuccessful. My email address should show up, so do send a note whenever convenient. Again, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family, albeit a little late!!

I learned about Bills' passing only this morning.  My heart breaks for your families loss.  Bill was a truly extraordinary gentleman who had a heart of pure gold.  My condolences to Jan and all of his family and friends.  He spoke so highly of all of you in our correspondences.  I will truly miss our chats and will forever regret that we never had the chance to go for that lunch that we always promised one another we would.

The news of Bill's death was, as these calls usually are,  unexpected and sad news for all of his old 1960's Toronto friends. 
He came to Toronto when his"big sister" Rosalind (FiFi) told him he would fit right in. He did and in fact stood as best man at Rosalind's marriage to Bob 10 months later.
They had known each other back in England  when Bill was in high school and she had stayed with his parents. 

He will be missed by all of us.

We recently spoke with Bill in the parking lot while he showed off his modified truck. As he toured the auction, he apologized for the tracks he made and swore he would outbid anyone for what he wanted. He had a spark, a sweet soul and we noticed his absence at the last  auction. To read of his passing made us pause and realize, you never know. Our time with Bill was very brief but to his family, please know he left a memorable impression.

The man.  The legend .   Never without a joke or a story or some tall tale.   He could have anyone laughing in minutes.   You never wanted the time with him to end.   We still don’t.   He was an amazing mentor and friend to me even when i was just some silly little girl with big aspirations.   He faithfully believed in me and inspired me to be a better person.   To be like him.  Loved like him.  Cherished and appreciated.. Respected and admired by all.   I hope in my lifetime I can get close.   My prayers and angels to Jan, Amanda, Stephanie and the grandchildren.
